1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Welcome to Koru Smart CV ("Koru", "we", "us", or "our"), an AI-powered CV and resume building platform operated by Credaro Technology ("Credaro Technology", "the Company"), a company registered in Mauritius under the Companies Act 2001.

By creating an account or using Koru, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms", "Agreement"). If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

If you're using Koru on behalf of an employer or organization, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Koru is an online platform that uses artificial intelligence to help you create, optimize, and export professional CVs and resumes. The service includes:

  • AI-powered CV analysis and content suggestions.
  • Professionally designed CV templates.
  • Keyword matching and ATS (Applicant Tracking System) compatibility checking.
  • CV export in multiple formats (PDF, Word, etc., depending on your subscription plan).
  • Pro plan features may include additional templates, advanced AI optimization, and priority support.

We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We'll give you reasonable notice before removing any feature that's part of your active subscription.

3. SUBSCRIPTION PLANS AND PRICING

Koru offers two subscription tiers:

3.1 Lite Plan

  • Price: $9.99 USD per 3-month billing cycle.
  • Includes: Core CV builder, 6 CV templates (Classic and Modern), basic AI suggestions, PDF export.

3.2 Pro Plan

  • Price: $14.99 USD per 3-month billing cycle.
  • Includes: Everything in Lite, plus all 9 CV templates (Classic, Modern and Executive), advanced AI optimization, keyword matching, ATS scoring, Word export, and priority support.

3.3 Billing Cycle

Subscriptions are payable in advance. Your subscription isn't automatically renewed at the end of cycle. You must renew before the end of your current subscription in order to continue using the platform.

3.4 Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Any price change takes effect at your next renewal. If you don't agree with the new price, you can choose not to renew and your subscription will end at the close of the current cycle.

3.5 Taxes

Prices are shown exclusive of applicable taxes (including VAT, where the Mauritius Finance Act 2026 imposes 15% VAT on digital services). We'll add applicable taxes at checkout based on your billing location.

4. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

To use Koru, you'll need to create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information when registering.
  • Keep your login credentials secure and confidential.
  • Not share your account with others or allow multiple people to use a single account.
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.
  • Be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we suspect are being used fraudulently.

5. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree not to:

  • Use Koru for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
  • Input false, misleading, or deceptive information into CVs created through Koru.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code, algorithms, or AI models behind Koru.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or collect data from Koru.
  • Upload content that infringes someone else's intellectual property rights.
  • Use Koru to create CVs for other people without their knowledge and consent.
  • Introduce viruses, malware, or other malicious code into the platform.
  • Circumvent any security or access controls.
  • Resell or redistribute access to Koru without our written permission.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without refund.

6. AI-GENERATED CONTENT

Koru uses AI to generate suggestions and recommendations for your CV. Here's what you need to know:

6.1 AI Output Is Advisory

The AI provides suggestions; it doesn't create your CV for you. All AI-generated content is advisory in nature. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving everything that goes into your final CV.

6.2 Accuracy Not Guaranteed

AI can make mistakes. It may suggest language that's not appropriate for your industry, misspell technical terms, or make recommendations that don't match your experience. Always review AI suggestions critically before accepting them.

6.3 No Professional Advice

Koru's AI doesn't provide legal, medical, financial, or career advice. CV suggestions are based on general patterns and best practices, not specific professional guidance. If you need career counselling or industry-specific advice, please consult a qualified professional.

6.4 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of the content in your CV, whether you wrote it yourself or accepted an AI suggestion. Credaro Technology isn't liable for any consequences arising from inaccurate or misleading CV content.

7. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

7.1 Koru Platform

Credaro Technology owns all intellectual property in Koru, including the platform, software, AI models, algorithms, templates, designs, logos, and brand assets. These are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws in Mauritius and internationally under the Patents, Industrial Designs and Trademarks Act 2002 and the Copyright Act 2014.

Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of Koru's intellectual property to you.

7.2 Your CV Content

You own the content you create in your CVs, your personal information, work history, education, skills, and any custom text you write. By using Koru, you grant us a limited license to process your content as needed to provide the service (including running it through our AI for suggestions and storing it so you can access it).

7.3 AI-Generated Suggestions

The AI-generated suggestions provided by Koru are owned by Credaro Technology. When you accept a suggestion and incorporate it into your CV, it becomes part of your CV content, which you own. We retain the right to use the underlying AI models and suggestion logic for other users.

7.4 Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about Koru, we may use them without any obligation or compensation to you. You acknowledge that your feedback, ideas, and suggestions are provided voluntarily and may be used by us without restriction, compensation, attribution, or obligation. You agree that any feature requests submitted are non-confidential and non-proprietary, and that you will not assert any ownership, intellectual property, or compensation claims arising from our use or implementation of such feedback.

8. USER CONTENT

8.1 Your Responsibility

You're responsible for ensuring that the content you input into Koru doesn't violate any law or third-party rights. You confirm that the personal information in your CV is your own and that you have the right to share it.

8.2 Privacy

Your CV content is treated as personal data under our Privacy Policy. We don't share your CV with employers, job boards, or third parties unless you explicitly export and share it yourself.

9. PAYMENT TERMS

9.1 Payment Processing

Subscriptions are paid through Dodo, our third-party payment processor. By subscribing, you authorize Dodo to charge your payment method for the subscription fees.

9.2 Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions are billed and paid in advance and do not renew automatically at the end of the subscription term. You will receive a notification seven (7) days before your subscription expires. To continue your service, you may renew your subscription by completing the renewal process and paying the applicable subscription fee in effect at that time.

9.3 Failed Payments

You must complete the registration process and pay the applicable subscription fees in advance before you can access or use the Services. Access to the Services will only be granted once payment has been successfully received and processed. Continued access is subject to maintaining an active, paid subscription.

10. REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS

10.1 Cancellation

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access to the Services until that date.

10.2 Refunds

Subscription fees are non-refundable. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. We do not provide refunds or credits for any partial or unused subscription period.

10.3 Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms affects any statutory consumer rights you may have under the laws of your jurisdiction.

11. SERVICE AVAILABILITY

We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Koru may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or events outside our control. We'll try to give you notice of planned downtime.

12. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

12.1 No Consequential Damages

Credaro Technology won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Koru including lost job opportunities, lost income, or damage to your professional reputation.

12.2 Liability Cap

Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of Koru is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

12.3 No Guarantee of Results

Koru is a tool to help you build a CV. We don't guarantee that using Koru will result in job interviews, job offers, or any specific career outcome.

13. DISCLAIMERS AND WARRANTIES

13.1 As-Is Service

Koru is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We don't warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that AI suggestions will be accurate or suitable for your needs.

13.2 No AI Warranty

AI-generated content may contain errors, biases, or inaccuracies. We don't warrant that AI suggestions will be free from bias or appropriate for all industries, roles, or jurisdictions.

13.3 Third-Party Services

We're not responsible for the performance or availability of third-party services integrated with Koru (such as payment processing or cloud hosting).

14. INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify and hold Credaro Technology harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your misuse of Koru.
  • Content you input that infringes third-party rights.
  • Your use of AI-generated content that causes harm to a third party.

15. TERMINATION

15.1 By You

You can stop using Koru and delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

15.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your account is inactive for more than 12 months, or if we discontinue the service (with reasonable notice).

15.3 Effect of Termination

When your account is terminated, your access to Koru ends. We'll delete your CV content and personal data within 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy, except where retention is required by law.

16. PRIVACY

Your use of Koru is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. Please review it carefully.

17. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

17.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Mauritius, including the Contract Law of Mauritius and the Consumer Protection Act 1991.

17.2 Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, we'll try to resolve it informally first. Please contact us at contact@credarotechnology.mu with details of your concern.

If we can't resolve it within 30 days, the dispute will be referred to mediation in Mauritius under the rules of the Mauritius Mediation Centre. If mediation fails, the dispute will be resolved by the courts of Mauritius.

17.3 Class Action Waiver

You agree that disputes will be resolved individually, not as part of a class action or representative proceeding.

18. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of Koru after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
